Introducing Bruce Borkovich, a distinguished law enforcement professional with a wealth of experience and expertise in criminal justice and conservation law enforcement. Bruce retired as the Police Chief at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI, in 2020, after dedicating seven years to safeguarding communities and educating future criminal justice professionals. With a Bachelor of Arts in education from Michigan State University and a Master of Science in criminal justice administration from Ferris State University, he also shared his knowledge as an adjunct professor in the Criminal Justice program at Ferris State.

Prior to his tenure at Ferris State, Bruce dedicated over two decades to the State of Michigan, serving as a Detective and a DNR Michigan Conservation Officer, and later the Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement Team (BAYANET). His extensive experience includes supervising major drug investigations, participating in over 300 search warrants, and being recognized as an expert witness in narcotics distribution across five court jurisdictions. As a testament to his outstanding contributions, Bruce was honored with the Shikar-Safari Michigan Conservation Officer of the Year award in 2003. Outside of his professional commitments, Bruce is a devoted family man, an avid outdoorsman, and a skilled craftsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, and making rustic furniture on his farm in Mecosta County.
